I've been crocheting forever. My grandmother taught me when I was quite young. I made bonnets and blankets for my dolls. I left it behind during my teen years. I picked it up again when I was pregnant with my first daughter. (I still enjoy making baby items best.) I played around with crocheting fabric; making rugs and chair seat covers. Then life, as it tends to at times, became challenging. Crocheting became my life line. I began carrying a project with me where ever I went. When I needed a good cry, I'd crochet. When tough decisions needed to be made I'd crochet and work them out. Today, life is really good again. But, I rarely go anywhere without a project.
I'm about to become an empty nester. My youngest leaves for college in August and my middle daughter gets married in November. Therefore, I predict lots of projects on the horizon. I'm thinking a baby layettes -- for the grandchildren I'm hoping for. The one we have now has truly been a blessing.
